Job summary

Moat House Care Home in Burbage near Hinckley, Leicestershire, is seeking a Maintenance Officer to ensure the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational. This hands-on role requires practical skills and a proactive approach to support safety and resident comfort.

You will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and upkeep, ensuring systems run safely and efficiently, and addressing issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.
• Work with the Home Manager and team to support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination.

Moat House Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite and day care home in Burbage, near Hinckley, Leicestershire. Maintenance Officer Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
