Job summary

Guthrie House Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking a Maintenance Officer. The role involves day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and safety checks to keep the home safe, comfortable, and well presented for residents and visitors.

You will work independently with the management team, supporting improvement projects and upkeep of indoor and outdoor spaces, while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, facilities or general building maintenance experience is essential.
• Strong practical skills with confidence carrying out repairs and upkeep.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures and risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of Guthrie House Care Home.
• Carry out repairs and routine maintenance, support improvements as needed.
• Maintain outdoor spaces and ensure health and safety checks are completed.
• Collaborate with management to ensure the building remains safe and well presented.

Job description

Guthrie House Care Home, located in Edinburgh, provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative Care in a warm and welcoming environment. Set in the peaceful surroundings of South East Edinburgh, the home is known for its compassionate approach, strong community spirit, and dedication to delivering exceptional care.

Maintenance Officer Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• 9AM -5PM or 8AM-4PM
• Paid PVG, pension and uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
