Job summary

Guthrie House Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking a Maintenance Officer to oversee day-to-day maintenance, repairs and upkeep, ensuring a safe, comfortable and well-presented environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with either 9:00–17:00 or 8:00–16:00 shifts, you will receive paid PVG checks, pension, uniform and 5.6 weeks of annual leave as part of a supportive team focused on high standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum maintenance, facilities or general building maintenance experience is essential.
• Strong practical skills with repairs, maintenance and upkeep.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures and ability to identify risks.
• Ability to manage workload independently and respond to priorities.
• Reliable, proactive and professional with strong problem solving and attention to detail.
• Genuine pride in maintaining safe, functional environments.
