Job Description: Maintenance Manager, Sidcup

About Sidcup Operations

Sidcup Operations plays a pivotal role within the CCEP network, producing around 50% of the GB SKU portfolio. The site offers a comprehensive range of products, including small cans, with seven manufacturing lines capable of producing 480,000 cans per hour, 96,000 PET bottles per hour, and 48,000 glass bottles. With around 300 employees across manufacturing, QESH, and engineering, this site offers excellent career opportunities within GB and across Europe.

Role Overview

The main purpose of the Maintenance Manager is to lead the site maintenance program, ensuring all assets meet legislative and site-specific requirements. The role requires technical expertise to support quick resolution of issues, maintaining customer service, safety, and quality standards. You will develop and execute maintenance plans for complex beverage manufacturing lines, ensuring asset care schedules are met and assets are available to improve efficiency and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with site leaders and technical staff to assess maintenance effectiveness and identify training needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve line utilization and machine reliability through maintenance plans and operational excellence projects.
  • Support technical projects, including budget management and CAPEX planning, in collaboration with the Senior Engineering Manager.
  • Plan and execute asset care interventions efficiently, focusing on quality and speed.
  • Participate actively in the apprentice recruitment and development program.
Team Leadership
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, including technicians.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Budget and Compliance
  • Manage the M&R budget, controlling costs while maintaining high standards.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and OEMs to ensure value and quality.
Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong track record in improving asset care systems and mechanical efficiencies, with experience in budget management and strategic investment decisions. Strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven 3-5 years as a Maintenance or Engineering Manager in FMCG or manufacturing environments.
Preferred but Not Essential
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • NEBOSH, IOSH certifications
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
  • Experience with TPM
