Job summary

Astute is partnering with a global engineering company to recruit a Maintenance Manager for their Energy from Waste Power Station in Atherstone, Warwickshire. The role offers a salary up to £65,000 plus bonus and benefits, with opportunities to lead a multi-skilled maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will have an HNC in engineering, ideally IOSH/NEBOSH, and solid experience in heavy process environments, plant outages, and budget management.

Astute's Power team is partnered with global engineering company to recruit a Maintenance Manager for their Energy from Waste Power Station in Atherstone, Warwickshire.

The vital Maintenance Manager role comes with a salary between £60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits.

If you're an Engineering/Maintenance Manager, or an experienced Maintenance Engineer seeking progression, and are looking to work for an organisation that puts integrity and people at the forefront of everything it does.

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Manager role

• Leading, training, and developing a team of multi-skilled technicians responsible for maintaining all plant equipment to the highest of standards to ensure maximum availability.
• Liaising with the Operations Manager for the purpose of plant improvement / modification / upgrade work.
• Planning and managing plant outages.
• Managing the maintenance department's budget.
• Developing the sites out of hours maintenance cover arrangements.
• Contract Management for key subcontractors on site.

Professional qualifications

• Ideally having a HNC minimum qualification in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation, etc.
• Ideally a formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.

Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge

• Supervisory or management experience in a Maintenance/Engineering role on a power station or similar heavy process environment such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, Coal, etc), Paper Mills, Refineries, Petrochemical, etc.
• Strong knowledge of pressure systems safety regulations (PSSR) would be ideal.
• Thorough understanding of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• Experience working with rotating plant and steam boilers.
• Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments.
• Experience of managing budgets.
