Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a large, well established bakery and food manufacturer on the outskirts of Sheffield, who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of asset availability across a high volume, multi line operation.

The site employs several hundred people and runs a mix of production lines supplying major UK retailers, with plant that runs hard and has to be right every shift.

Qualifications

• Engineering management experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Multiskilled engineering background, ideally with an electrical bias.
• Engineering HNC or equivalent industrial experience.
• Strong working knowledge of CMMS and planned preventive maintenance.
• Maintenance strategy expertise such as RCM, FMECA, condition-based maintenance and tribology.
• Project management and budget management experience.
• IOSH certified with a food hygiene qualification, or willing to gain one.
• Experience leading a diverse workforce and influencing across an operational management team.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering the maintenance schedule to maximise asset availability across the site.
• Leading the engineering team so colleagues are safe, engaged, developed and performing.
• Maintaining and improving the planned preventive maintenance system, balancing risk with a proactive approach.
• Applying an asset management strategy to optimise equipment performance through its full life cycle.
• Monitoring departmental KPIs and aligning engineering activity to hit targets.
• Managing engineering projects and departmental budget.
• Building a culture of continuous improvement within engineering.
• Contributing to the site's multi-functional operational management team, including report writing for senior stakeholders.

Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a large, well established bakery and food manufacturer on the outskirts of Sheffield, who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of asset availability across a high volume, multi line operation.

The site employs several hundred people and runs a mix of production lines supplying major UK retailers, with plant that runs hard and has to be right every shift. The Maintenance Manager reports into the site's senior engineering lead and sits on the operational management team, leading a multi-skilled engineering team with a wide mix of backgrounds.

This is a role about getting ahead of breakdowns rather than chasing them. You'll design the maintenance schedule, own the planned preventive maintenance system, set the asset strategy across the life cycle of the equipment, and build a continuous improvement culture inside engineering. The business is ideally looking for someone from a multi-skilled background with an electrical bias.

Working Hours: Days-based, Monday to Friday, with on-call cover
