Job summary

LGH Hotels Management Ltd is seeking a proactive Hotel Maintenance Manager for Holiday Inn Oxford to lead maintenance operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and guests’ comfort. You will drive preventative maintenance, allocate tasks, and deliver high-quality service to keep the hotel running smoothly.

You will manage a maintenance team, coordinate with contractors, and uphold health and safety standards while controlling costs and improving energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Allocate work, manage rotas, and provide direction to the maintenance team.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify issues early and minimise disruption.
• Design and implement preventative maintenance programmes to protect assets and reduce downtime.
• Proactively fault-find and resolve long-term problems.
• Ensure maintenance activity complies with health and safety laws and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, costs, parts, and compliance.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive professional to lead our maintenance operations and ensure the hotel runs smoothly day in, day out. Keeping the Hotel Running Smoothly

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, on time, and to a high standard.
• Allocate work, manage rotas, and provide clear direction to the maintenance team.
• Carry out regular inspections to identify issues early and reduce disruption.

Preventative Care & Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement effective preventative maintenance programmes that protect assets and minimise downtime.
• Take a proactive approach to fault-finding and long-term problem resolution.

Safety, Compliance & Reassurance

• Ensure all maintenance activity is carried out safely, fully compliant with health & safety legislation and best practice.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, costs, parts used, and compliance documentation.

Managing Resources Responsibly

• Manage the maintenance and repairs budget, balancing cost control with quality and long-term reliability.
• Monitor energy usage and introduce energy-efficient improvements where possible.
• Oversee contractors and suppliers—negotiating contracts and ensuring work is delivered to standard and within budget.

Communication & Leadership

• Provide clear updates and reports to senior management on maintenance activity, risks, and priorities.
• Build a positive, calm, solutions-focused maintenance culture that others can rely on.
