Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the site engineering function at Kings Lynn. You will drive reliability, plan maintenance, and foster a proactive culture across the engineering team.

The role requires developing teams, managing budgets, and delivering continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and SAP/PPM experience are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a management or supervisory engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets and engineering resources.
• Knowledge of SAP maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching and developing a multi-skilled engineering team.
• Driving site performance through improved uptime, efficiency and asset reliability.
• Managing engineering budgets, labour costs and departmental KPIs.
• Ensuring effective preventative maintenance programmes are delivered through SAP.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve performance.
• Managing engineering projects, contractor control and statutory compliance activities.
• Maintaining audit-ready standards across safety, hygiene, quality and engineering compliance.
• Developing succession plans and ensuring team capability through training and mentoring.
• Collaborating closely with Production, Planning and Technical teams to achieve site objectives.
• Ensuring maintenance records, SOPs and risk assessments remain current and compliant.

What You'll Be Doing

As Maintenance Manager, you will lead and develop the engineering team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all site equipment and facilities. Working closely with the Site Engineering Manager, you will help drive the transition from reactive maintenance to a planned, improvement-focused culture.
