Job summary

IFCO SYSTEMS is seeking a Maintenance Manager to ensure operational excellence of all wash processes, maximize machine efficiency, and lead planned maintenance. You will partner with the General Manager to oversee local maintenance staff and manage CAPEX initiatives for the service center.

The role requires a strong background in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with a track record of improving reliability in high-volume environments.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree preferred.
  • Aptitude in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic applications; automation background a plus.
  • Experience balancing cost, quality and performance in production environments.
  • Ability to manage project plans with budgets.
  • OSHA safety training and/or accreditation preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of maintenance in high-volume production/warehouse settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preventative maintenance program at the local facility.
  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling to reduce downtime and ensure safe practices.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and provide technical support to maintenance staff.
  • Maintain and monitor the PDM system, including troubleshooting and updates.
  • Assist the General Manager with equipment analysis and action recommendations.
  • Execute CAPEX projects within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Direct maintenance staff to install, maintain and repair equipment with good housekeeping.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and monitor downtime.
  • Train and develop maintenance personnel.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring operational excellence of all wash processes, maximizing machine efficiency, scheduling planned machine maintenance, and engaging in CAPEX projects within the service center. Partner with the General Manager to offer guidance and oversight of local maintenance staff to ensure effective maintenance and operation of plant and wash equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the preventative maintenance program at the local facility.
  • Coordination of maintenance scheduling to reduce downtime while maintaining safe work practices.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and provide technical support to facility maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain and monitor the PDM system, including troubleshooting issues, software updates, and hardware installations.
  • Support the General Manager by providing equipment analysis and recommended course of action for efficient and cost-effective machine operation.
  • Execute CAPEX projects and initiatives within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Direct and support maintenance employees to install, maintain, and repair equipment as well as follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Manage and direct multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Monitor machine downtime.
  • Train and develop maintenance personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 4-year college degree preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications; background in automation is a plus.
  • Able to handle, maintain, and overcome large, complex integration system challenges.
  • Process development experience and a proven record of operational success in balancing cost, quality, and performance
  • Ability to develop and manage project plans with a budget.
  • Documented OSHA safety training and/or accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of previous maintenance experience in a high-volume production, agricultural production, or distribution facility required.
  • Experience working with multiple high-volume 24-hour production/warehouse environments required.
  • Safety program management experience required."

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle high-volume operational requirements.
  • Familiar with applicable federal and state laws about wage and hour, employee relations, and safety.
  • Computer literacy required, including proficiency in standard business applications included in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven Ability to work/develop an effective team within a high-volume, 24-hour production/warehouse environment.
  • Excellent on-time decision-making skills.
