Job summary

Staffbase Recruitment in Croydon area seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead a small team and external contractors, directing CMMS, budgeting, and CAPEX while driving cost savings. The role demands strong electrical know-how, PLC familiarity, and hands-on shop-floor leadership in an industrial setting. Monday–Friday with a negotiable package.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of management/supervisory experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Qualified electrical engineer; IOSH/NEBOSH safety training preferred.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and external contractors.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems and electrical/ mechanical maintenance.

Job description

Salary £65K - £70K Neg + Bonus.

Located at a large heavy industry processing plant near Croydon.

The Role:

Your duties will include but is not limited to the following:

• Maintain and develop the existing CMMS
• Management & control of a small team of maintenance engineers and also external contractors
• Plan, manage and control all maintenance activities and engineering projects
• Effective Budget and CAPEX Project management
• Monitoring, sourcing and ordering spare and replacement parts
• Ensure adequate staff training, recruitment and disciplinary needs are met
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach and help to deliver efficiency and cost savings where possible
• Ensure compliance with all legal and HSE requirements
• Provide "Hands-on" assistance with electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance and repair of plant and machinery.

Candidate:

You will be an experienced maintenance manager / supervisor with electrical bias.

Applicants will have previous experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector e.g. chemical plants, plastics, metals, quarry or recycling.

You will have at least 5 years management /supervisory experience and you must me confident in leading a team of engineers and external contractors.

You will hold recognised electrical engineering qualification and ideally you will be trained in health & safety management to IOSH or NEBOSH level.

You will have a recognised qualification in electrical engineering e.g. HNC, degree or 18th edition certification and you will have good knowledge and understanding of plc systems.

We are seeking a highly organised and effective leader who will maintain a visible presence on the shop floor.
