Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes in Hayes is seeking a Maintenance Lead to manage day-to-day upkeep, safety and repairs at Hayes Cottage. You will be the first point of contact for maintenance matters and provide on-call cover to keep the home safe and well-maintained.

The role requires previous maintenance experience, a Full UK driving licence, and strong practical problem-solving skills. On-site duties include ensuring health and safety compliance and liaising with contractors.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience is essential.
• Full UK driving license and ability to drive is essential.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Flexible and willing to be on-call for maintenance emergencies when required.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is desirable.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the care home.
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks.
• Carry out regular checks and report any faults or safety concerns.
• Maintain gardens and external areas as required.
• Ensure the home is kept safe, clean and well maintained.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Act as the maintenance lead and be available on-call for emergencies when required.
• Liaise with contractors and external services when specialist repairs are needed.
• Maintain appropriate records of maintenance work and repairs.
• Work in accordance with health and safety and care home requirements.
