Job summary

Elysium Health care is seeking a Maintenance Lead to manage two specialist healthcare services, ensuring safe, well-maintained environments for patients, staff and visitors.

You will lead a maintenance team at St Neots Neurological Centre, oversee daily tasks, coordinate contractors and drive safety compliance while supporting budget and administrative processes.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience in a hospital or similar environment.
  • City & Guilds qualification in Electrical, Plumbing or in Building.
  • Demonstrate managerial and communication skills.
  • Adapt – be practical.
  • Able to lift heavy loads and have good physical health.
  • Conscientious and team focused.
  • Knowledge of statutory legislation e.g. fire, electrical and health & safety.
  • English language skills – GCSE level D or equivalent numerate GCSE level D.
  • Demonstrate initiative and assertiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of plant within a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a maintenance team at St Neots Neurological Centre delivering high maintenance standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, prioritise workloads and review schedules.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance programmes and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate contractors on site and provide guidance for safe, timely works.
  • Identify faults, respond to maintenance issues and keep facilities safe and fit for purpose.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Support administrative processes including purchase orders, invoice approvals and budgets.

Job description

Are you a hands‑on maintenance professional with leadership experience and a passion for creating safe, well‑maintained environments? Join our team as a Maintenance Lead and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of two specialist healthcare services, making a real difference to the experience of patients, staff and visitors every day. Working closely with the Support Services Manager, you will lead and support a maintenance team at St Neots Neurological Centre ensuring a high standard of maintenance is delivered the site. You will oversee day‑to‑day maintenance activities, prioritise workloads, review work schedules and ensure repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. In this varied and rewarding role, you will support the organisation and completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes, ensuring all statutory and compliance requirements are met. You will coordinate contractors on site, providing guidance and local support to ensure works are completed safely, on time and to the required standard. You will also identify, prioritise and respond to faults, damage and maintenance issues, ensuring buildings and facilities remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose. As Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in line with organisational policies, procedures and statutory regulations. You will also support administrative processes, including purchase orders, invoice approval and budget monitoring, while contributing to Health & Safety, Clinical Governance and Senior Management Team meetings as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Previous maintenance experience in a hospital or similar environment.
  • To have a City & Guilds qualification in Electrical, Plumbing or in Building.
