Job summary

Fives Trafford is seeking a reliable Maintenance Support Assistant to keep pitches and facilities safe, clean and match-ready. The role is part-time with approximately 8–10 hours per week across two shifts, offering independence in a busy football environment.

You’ll be practical, proactive and detail-focused, ensuring safety and presentation across the centre with occasional minor repairs and clear reporting of larger issues.

Qualifications

• 2 years of maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping or similar experience preferred.
• Attitude and reliability are as important as technical ability.
• Driving licence and basic safety certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and.clear pitches and surrounding areas.
• Remove debris, leaves and waste from pitches.
• Check pitch surfaces, nets, fencing and equipment.
• Carry out minor repairs where appropriate and report bigger issues.
• Maintain walkways and customer areas tidy and presentable.
• Support general site maintenance and presentation.

Location: FIVES Trafford, 11 Trafford Way, Trafford Park, Manchester
Hours: Part Time – 8–10 hours per week
Shifts: 2 shifts per week (Day time / Off Peak)
Reporting to: General Manager

We’re looking for a reliable, practical and hands‑on Maintenance Support Assistant to join the team at Fives Trafford.

The Role

This is a practical role focused on keeping our pitches and facilities safe, clean and match-ready.

You’ll work approximately 8–10 hours per week across two shifts, taking ownership of routine pitch and facility maintenance.

You’ll be someone who takes pride in their work, notices the small things and doesn’t wait to be asked when something needs attention.

Pitch & Facility Maintenance

• Sweeping and clearing pitches
• Removing debris, leaves and general waste
• Checking pitch surfaces and surrounding areas
• Checking goals, nets, fencing and pitch equipment
• Carrying out minor repairs where appropriate
• Reporting larger repairs or issues to the General Manager
• Checking and maintaining high netting and ball‑stop areas
• Identifying damaged or worn equipment
• Keeping walkways, entrances and customer areas tidy
• Supporting general site maintenance and presentation

Weekly Checks

• Complete routine pitch and facility checks
• Identify maintenance issues before they become bigger problems
• Keep a simple record of completed work and outstanding issues
• Make sure the centre is ready for customers and football every week
