Job summary

Sodexo at Wythenshawe Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to maintain and repair mechanical systems in a busy healthcare environment.

You will work on heating, chilled systems, ventilation and BMS, respond to faults, install and service equipment, and comply with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering and Building Services is required.
• Experience in healthcare or large, complex sites is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation and mechanical systems and a proactive fault-finding approach.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and correctly fill out issued dockets for day-to-day tasks.
• Diagnose faults and perform installation, repair and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building energy systems.
• Work safely in accordance with health and safety regulations and use appropriate tools and equipment.
• Be able to work independently, including on-call duties, and drive the company vehicle as required.

Maintenance Fitter

£18.62 per hour with an additional 20% uplift for shift workers.

40 Hours Per Week Monday to Friday, Shifts are 08:00 to 16:30.

Driving license is desirable.

Location: Wythenshawe Hospital, Southmoor Road, Wythenshawe, M23 9LT.

NVQ Level 3 Qualification required in Mechanical Engineering and Building Services.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for responding to and correctly filling out issued dockets for day to day tasks
• Strong understanding of Heating, Chilled Systems, Ventilation, and BMS Systems within a healthcare environment
• Skilled in installation, repair, fault finding, and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building energy management systems
• Ability to work safely in compliance with health and safety regulations, including working at heights and using relevant tools and equipment
• Capable of working independently, including on call duties and driving the company vehicle as required
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and commitment to health and safety standards
• Proven ability to respond promptly to breakdowns and participate in scheduled response systems

What You Bring

• NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and Building Services
• Willing to learn and go on courses to add to current qualifications
• Experience in healthcare or large, complex sites is an advantage, but not essential.
• Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance or fitter role
• Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation and mechanical systems
• Confidence diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
• A good working knowledge of health and safety regulations
• A practical, reliable approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
