Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join Raisby Quarry and Concrete Plant in Durham. You will diagnose mechanical defects, perform breakdown repairs, and support preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and safety of plant operations.

The role requires a hands-on maintenance background, knowledge of hydraulics and welding, and a full UK driving licence. Training and development opportunities are available within a leading materials group.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial maintenance role.
• Proficient in hydraulics, welding and fabrication.
• Knowledge of concrete pan mixers and general plant maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical defects and perform breakdown repairs.
• Contribute to identifying and implementing preventative maintenance strategies.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Team Leader to enhance plant reliability and safety.
• Engage in planning and execution of plant improvements and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members and contractors to ensure effective maintenance support.
• Experience in an industrial maintenance role.

Position Overview

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Raisby Quarry. In this role, you will engage in problem-solving and collaborate with our maintenance team to diagnose and resolve mechanical defects and breakdowns efficiently and safely. Your focus will be on identifying root causes of equipment issues, implementing solutions, and supporting the development and execution of preventative maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and safety of our plant operations.
