Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for The Farndon Unit in Newark. You will help ensure the facilities and equipment are well-maintained, safe, and fit for purpose, while coordinating with contractors and paying attention to safety.

A 6-month fixed-term contract applies, with training and development opportunities throughout. The role supports a multidisciplinary team caring for service users with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a facilities environment.
• Good DIY skills to ensure safety of residents.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Willingness to attend training sessions and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with maintaining the service, buildings, facilities and equipment to be fit for purpose.
• Liaising with contractors to support upkeep of the service.
• Carrying out regular checks and maintenance.
• Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
• Reporting faults and defects to the manager.
• Participating in a 1-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
• Coordinating and supporting contractors on site and completing paperwork and tool checks.
