Job summary

TechPoint Group, a leading UK-owned EMS and service provider, is seeking a Maintenance Equipment Engineer to lead and support maintenance and repairs of site equipment. The role focuses on uptime, maintenance scheduling, and supervising contractors to deliver world-class availability.

You will work with SMT/PCB manufacturing equipment, perform fault finding on electrical and control systems, and help build spare parts lists while keeping budgets in check.

Qualifications

Experience in SMT/PCB manufacturing processes and equipment.
IOSHH or evidence of a robust safety background.
Experience in the maintenance of surface mount equipment.
Excellent fault finding experience on electrical, electronic, pneumatic & control systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for building relationships with colleagues/contractors.
Demonstrable ability to controlling spend whilst achieving uptime requirements.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with customer facing exposure.
Robust IT skills & ability to learn new systems with pace.

Responsibilities

Physical hands-on repairs and maintenance on all key site services and production equipment.
Fault find on systems including reflow ovens, SMT pick & place machines, conformal coating, AOI and inspection systems.
Control of contractors - PTW issue/engagement.
Develop and implement the maintenance schedule of works using a CMMS.
Build productive relationships with site contractors and engineering service providers.
Raise purchase orders via procurement, ensuring cost-effective measures and budget adherence.
Build critical spares lists for all equipment.
Support plant relocations and equipment installations (FM & SMT).

The Role

The Maintenance Equipment Engineer will lead and support the delivery of equipment maintenance & repairs of breakdowns, bringing escalation of issues to the management team. Creation and adherence to maintenance schedules will be a key part of this role. The candidate will liaise & supervise any contractors/third party providers that through specialism or requirements attend the facility to undertake repairs/maintenance. The role will be a key deliverable in driving uptime/availability & a world class OEE %.

Responsibilities

Physical 'hands on' repairs & maintenance on all key site services & production equipment.

About you
