Maintenance Engineering Consultant – Offshore Cranes and Lifting Appliances
Scope of Services (Independent Consultancy Role)

This scope defines the independent consultancy services to be delivered by the appointed professional. The Maintenance Engineering Consultant shall provide expert, standalone services to support the integrity, performance, and compliance of offshore cranes and related lifting appliances on a designated offshore asset.

The consultant operates entirely independently, determining the manner and method of service delivery. These services are not delivered under the direction or control of the client, beyond the oversight required for safety, quality, and contractual compliance. Any work outside this scope must be formally agreed upon via contract variation.

Summary of Services:
The consultant will deliver engineering services to assure maintenance and operational readiness of offshore cranes and lifting appliances. All activities will be aligned with relevant operational and safety standards. Collaboration with the client and third parties may be required, but the consultant retains full control over how work is executed to achieve the project objectives.

Scope of Services Includes:

• Advising on inspection and certification strategies for cranes and lifting appliances in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

• Acting as an independent technical authority when liaising with inspection bodies and third-party vendors.

• Supporting technical risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID reviews, and offshore readiness processes.

• Reviewing technical documentation and inspection reports from subcontractors and vendors.

• Participating in planning meetings, site surveys, and functional testing activities.

• Providing expert input into maintenance strategies, technical queries, and vendor evaluations.

Deliverables May Include:

• Technical workpacks, inspection documents, and reports to support asset integrity and compliance.

• Maintenance planning inputs such as job cards, CTRs, and campaign schedules.

• Procurement-related documentation, including requisitions and vendor scopes of work.

• Condition assessments, spares lists, and updates to equipment registers and data systems.

• Site survey findings, functional test records, and documentation of any change control activities.

• Progress reports and cost-tracking related to lifting equipment scopes.

The consultant remains fully accountable for determining the execution plan and timeline of deliverables, in line with the agreed scope and project deadlines.
