Job summary

Spire Liverpool Hospital is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join its Engineering team on a permanent basis. You will provide cost-effective engineering services across building services, grounds and equipment while ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will manage a 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday, with on-call duties every third week. A recognised mechanical apprenticeship and strong knowledge of building services are

Qualifications

• Served a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of building services.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff and patients.
• Customer oriented with a professional appearance.
• Ability to contribute to a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a cost‑effective maintenance/repair programme for all services and equipment.
• Identify and report engineering risks to management.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
• Support energy performance and Building Management System optimisation.
• Complete competency documentation and identify training needs.
• Coordinate external contractors and manage on-site works.
• Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.
