Alexander Steele Ltd in Grantham is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team. The role involves conducting planned and reactive maintenance, improving equipment reliability, and contributing to capital projects in a thriving food manufacturing operation.

Hours: Mon-Fri alternating early/late shifts. Salary up to £44,000 dependent on experience plus great benefits. Excellent opportunities for career development within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained engineer or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
• Multi-skilled engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience of both PPM and breakdown maintenance.
• Good awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
• Flexible approach to supporting operational demands.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support equipment upgrades, installations, and capital investment projects.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through the CMMS system.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to maximise site performance.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
