Job summary

TXP is seeking six Field Engineers for a nationwide preventative maintenance programme across multiple retail locations. Work is night shifts across five sites weekly, with 8 hours per site and travel between locations.

You will perform maintenance on IT and EPOS equipment, complete audits, and document asset information using mobile devices. The role requires a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, with an immediate start on a 4–6 week project.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative maintenance on IT and EPOS equipment across multiple retail sites.
• Visit one site per shift during night work and perform cleaning, inspection and component fitting.
• Record asset information, report damaged equipment and complete project reports via client processes.
• Create cabinet maps, capture photos and complete room audits for communications rooms.
• Work independently on site with mobile devices and maintain accurate documentation.

Preventative Maintenance Engineer (Nationwide)

£180 per night shift (Outside IR35) | 4-6 Week Project | Immediate Start

We are looking for 6 Field Engineers to support a nationwide preventative maintenance programme across multiple retail locations.

Northern IrelandThe Role

Working night shifts, you will visit one retail site per shift and carry out preventative maintenance activities on a variety of IT and EPOS equipment. Duties will include cleaning and inspecting handheld devices, printers, tills, self-scan units, scales and associated hardware, ensuring equipment remains in good working condition.

You will also complete communications room audits, including checking server serial numbers, removing identified legacy equipment, fitting supplied components, cleaning cabinet areas, creating cabinet maps and capturing photographic evidence.

Engineers will be responsible for accurately recording asset information, reporting damaged or unavailable equipment, documenting any access issues and completing all required project reports through the client's reporting process. This is a field-based role requiring a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently and confidence using mobile devices or laptops to complete project documentation.

Project Details

• Start Date: 11th October
• Duration: Approx. 4-6 weeks
• Sunday to Thursday nights
• Typical 8:00pm to 4:00am
• One site per shift
• 5 shifts per week (subject to schedule)
• Training provided on first site

Requirements

• Previous IT, EPOS, field engineering, hardware maintenance or deployment experience preferred
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
• Comfortable working night work and travelling
• Able to use a smartphone, tablet or laptop to complete reports and upload photographs
• Comfortable working in retail environments and carrying out physical tasks including bending, kneeling and accessing equipment in confined spaces

Rate & Expenses

• £180 per shift (includes 8 hours onsite and first 75 miles travel)
• Mileage over 75 miles paid at 33p per mile
• Parking, tolls (excluding M6 Toll), ULEZ and congestion charges claimable where applicable
