Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham, has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (Multi Skilled).

• Full Time Permanent Contract
• 42 hours per week, working a 24-7 shift pattern
• Location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB

Role Objectives

Provide first-hand maintenance support for machine and appliance breakdowns:

• Fault finding within electrical circuits and mechanics of machine tool centres
• Interrogating control systems using engineering drawings & schematics
• Installing and maintaining 3-phase power supplies and commissioning new equipment
• Changing spindles, drives, and auxiliary equipment related to machine tools

Support reactive and planned preventative maintenance in line with PPM Schedule and NADCAP requirements.

Undertake machine alignment and repair with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drives.

Liaise with maintenance support for stock spares and requisitions.

Complete all supporting paperwork.

Support maintenance team in delivering facilities objectives to 6S standards.

Maintain professional development and industry compliance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of costs related to machine downtime
• Communicate adjustments and changes promptly
• Support accurate record-keeping of activities

• Work to maintenance schedules and estimate worker hours
• Interpret specifications and work within SOPs
• Develop work procedures and SOPs with support

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Recommend improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance

• Support workers to achieve goals
• Coach and mentor trainees

HSE

• Follow HS&E policies and safety regulations
• Identify and eliminate hazards
• Test fire and emergency alarm systems when required

Position Requirements

Experience

• Relevant industry qualification
• Experience in machine tool maintenance
• Ability to fault find using machine controls, especially Siemens 840D
• Knowledge of Siemens 840D controls for various machines is advantageous
• Understanding of machine shop, metal treatments, and fabrication processes
• Experience with 5-axis milling or similar large machines
