Sherborne Talent Solutions is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot complex equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and drive improvements that boost uptime and efficiency.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, experience in automated production, and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset. Shift work and overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive equipment reliability, uptime, and performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency projects.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and control faults.
  • Work with production teams to optimise machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Support TPM and continuous improvement initiatives (downtime, OEE, efficiency).
  • Manage spare parts and support cost control.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and drive follow-up actions.

You’ll play a key role in:
  • Driving equipment reliability, uptime, and performance
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and efficiency projects
  • Acting as a key technical expert within a highly automated shopfloor

If you enjoy working close to the action, troubleshooting complex equipment, and seeing immediate impact this is for you.

Technical Focus
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns in a high-volume production environment
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on automated machinery
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and control faults
  • Working closely with production teams to optimise machine performance and reduce downtime
  • Supporting TPM and continuous improvement initiatives (downtime, OEE, efficiency)
  • Managing spare parts and supporting cost control
  • Keeping accurate maintenance records and driving follow‑up actions
