Proactive Global is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to maintain reliability and efficiency of production equipment across a modern Leeds site. The role combines planned maintenance with hands-on fault diagnosis on sophisticated automated machinery.

You will join a supportive, growth-focused engineering team that values training and internal progression, with a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, days and nights. Excellent salary and benefits are on offer.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification required (City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing, production or process-based environments.
• Electrical or mechanical multi-skilled maintenance with fault-finding on automated machinery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep production running.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and/or mechanical faults on complex automated lines.
• Maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical components.
• Identify root causes of breakdowns and implement lasting solutions.
• Contribute to projects and continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability.

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join an established, world-class manufacturing company in Leeds. The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment across the site. The position combines planned preventative maintenance with hands on fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs, giving you the opportunity to work across a varied range of machinery and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing PPM schedules and carrying out reactive maintenance to keep production equipment operating efficiently
• Investigating machinery faults and carrying out effective electrical and/or mechanical repairs
• Working on complex automated production lines and process equipment
• Maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical components
• Responding to breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing lasting solutions
• Contributing to engineering projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement activities
• Looking for ways to improve machinery reliability, reduce downtime and increase production efficiency

Requirements

• Recognised engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing, production or a process-based environment
• Electrical or mechanical engineering and multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers
• Practical experience maintaining and fault-finding on automated machinery
• Confident diagnosing technical problems and carrying out effective repairs
• A proactive approach to maintenance, with a focus on equipment reliability and minimising production disruption
