Job summary

Baxter Healthcare/Thetford is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Operational Maintenance Engineering team. You will maintain production equipment, troubleshoot faults, and support improvements across electrical and mechanical systems in a highly automated environment.

You will work hands-on with Maximo work orders, and contribute to the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes aligned with GMP requirements.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering.
• High level mechanical knowledge in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with welding, lathe and milling.
• Knowledge of gear boxes, pumps, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Electrical knowledge of control panels, automation and robotics.
• Understanding of electrical safety and controllers.
• Able to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Raise corrective and reactive maintenance dockets on Maximo.
• Assist and support queries to identify improvements to the stores system.
• Review planned and preventative maintenance procedures and suggest improvements.
• Advance issues in a timely manner.
• Identify areas for improvement across site.
• Deliver all activities to GMP standards.

At Baxter Thetford, you will work as part of our Operational Maintenance Engineering team, supporting production equipment that ultimately helps us deliver products to patients around the world. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, solving problems and working across electrical and mechanical systems — but who is also comfortable using digital systems and working around automated equipment.

What you’ll be doing

You will:

What we’re looking for

You could currently be working as a: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | Multi-Skilled Engineer | Maintenance Engineer

We are particularly interested in people with:

• HNC or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering
• High level Mechanical knowledge and overall engineering understanding in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
• High degree of competency Welding & Machine Lathe & Milling
• High level working knowledge of Gear box, pumps, pneumatic & hydraulic systems
• Electrical knowledge of control panels, automation and robotics
• Good level knowledge of electrical Safety, CCT and controllers
• Work as part of a wider team but also show the ability to work independently
