Job summary

Pioneer Selection is working with a Manchester-based process manufacturer to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. The role covers maintaining a mix of modern and legacy plant equipment, with planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement.

This hands-on post requires a mechanically biased background, Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent) and experience with pumps, valves, gearboxes, agitators, actuators and vessels.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Reactive breakdown maintenance and fault finding.
• Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting across equipment.
• Work with pumps, valves, gearboxes, agitators and vessels.
• Support continuous improvement and pipe fitting as needed.
• Adhere to health & safety policies.

Job Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established process manufacturing business in Manchester. Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a mixture of modern and legacy plant equipment through planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on mechanical role where you will work across a varied range of process equipment, helping to improve plant reliability, resolve recurring faults and support ongoing investment across the site. The business places a strong emphasis on safety, engineering standards and development, offering excellent opportunities to expand your technical skillset.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

• Mechanically biased maintenance background.
• Level 3 Engineering qualification / apprenticeship (or equivalent).
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding ability.
