Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join a globally recognised business on a days-based schedule. The role focuses on maintaining a range of mechanical equipment and participating in regular PPM activities within a controlled environment.

You will receive full refrigeration training and operate on a Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30 shift with an on-call rota every three weeks.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background with maintenance experience.
• Experience with mechanical equipment maintenance including lifts/gearboxes.
• Willingness to undergo refrigeration training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical equipment such as lifts and gearboxes.
• Perform inspections, oiling and greasing as part of the maintenance regime.
• Contribute to a tight-knit mechanical team on a PPM schedule.
• Provide on-call support on a 1-in-3-week rota.

Are you a Maintenance Engineer from a mechanical background looking to join a globally recognised business offering a wide range of refrigeration training to further boost your career within the industry?

In this hands‑on role, you will be working within a tight knit mechanical team on a PPM schedule, ensuring the operations on a variety of mechanical equipment are maintained. You will also be responsible for carrying out inspections on the equipment, alongside oiling and greasing.

• Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm
