Job description

We are recruiting for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (mechanical biased) to work in a large-scale manufacturing facility in the Blackburn area. The role involves providing maintenance engineering support to onsite production and manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime. The position includes preventative maintenance and reactive repair works. It is a permanent role offering circa £45,700 (including SA) and is based on an alternating early and late shift pattern:

• Week 1: Mon-Fri 06:00-14:00
• Week 2: Mon-Thur 13:45-22:15

Maintenance Engineer duties:

• Preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
• Continuous improvement to enhance reliability and performance
• Reactive repairs
• Working across various processing and manufacturing plant (mechanical bias)
• Work on PLCs, controls, SCADA, compressors
• Handling chemical and polymer processing equipment
• Liaising and overlapping with electrical bias engineers

In order to be successful:

• Ideally recognized apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (preferably mechanical)
• Experience working within a process or production/manufacturing facility
• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of preventative, predictive, and lifecycle maintenance activities
• Mechanical fault finding, maintenance, and experience
• Previous experience working within chemical plant facilities (preferred)
