Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Engineer or multi-skilled engineer in manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering background.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Comfortable with Panama 2s & 3s day/night shift.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance.
• Fault find and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
• Complete repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability initiatives.
• Work with production teams to ensure equipment remains operational.
• Complete engineering documentation and maintenance records.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety.
• Support engineering projects and equipment improvements where required.

Maintenance Engineer

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £45,000
Shift: Panama 2s & 3s – Days & Nights

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in the Basingstoke area.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery, responding to breakdowns and working closely with the wider engineering and production teams to maximise equipment reliability.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance.
• Fault find and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
• Complete repairs efficiently to minimise production downtime.
• Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability initiatives.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment remains operational.
• Complete engineering documentation and maintenance records.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety.
• Support engineering projects and equipment improvements where required.

Skills Required:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering background.
• Experience within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Comfortable working a Panama 2s & 3s Days & Nights shift pattern.
• Relevant engineering qualification would be advantageous.
