Maintenance Engineer - Days (Monday to Friday)

Fantastic salary package: £42-47k + generous pension & benefits

Fixed Term Contract: 8 months, with potential for further opportunities

Our client is a global leader in the FMCG drinks & beverage sector. We are recruiting a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join their packaging plant based in Belfast, working days Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm.

You will be working in a modern, clean, and highly automated production environment.

This is a fixed-term contract of 8 months, offering a great opportunity to work within a forward-thinking engineering team with potential for longer-term employment.

Suitable candidates will need:

• A relevant Engineering apprenticeship and HNC qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering
• Proven maintenance experience in production settings, preferably with FMCG high-speed automated equipment

The Reliability Engineer plays a key role in enhancing the efficiency of the engineering department by reviewing maintenance plans, utilizing RCA and Reliability Centred Maintenance, and ensuring site compliance with PUWER, PSSR, and electrical testing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and improvements of assets across the site
• Review and contribute to RCM, addressing critical failure modes
• Improve maintenance strategies with a proactive, condition-based approach
• Ensure compliance with PUWER, PSSR, and electrical testing requirements
• Perform root cause analysis on breakdowns and update maintenance plans accordingly
• Carry out PPMs and analyze data to deliver improvement projects
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, and team leaders in problem-solving and technical support
• Promote world-class standards, including 5S and Asset Care
• Utilize SAP maintenance management system effectively
• Develop and mentor apprentices

Qualifications and Skills:

• Apprenticeship and HNC qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
• Proven maintenance experience in a production or FMCG environment
• Ability to identify and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults
• Knowledge of problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why and RCA
• Understanding of asset performance and process improvements
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of industrial equipment
• Familiarity with engineering compliance standards (PUWER, PSSR, electrical testing)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
