Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for Birch Vale. The role covers fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems, planned maintenance, and supporting site improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will maintain pumps, pipework, hydraulics and pneumatics, respond to breakdowns, and help improve equipment uptime. A time-served engineering background and 18th Edition are essential; 17th edition also considered. Travel to Stalybridge may be required.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering background or equivalent qualification.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification; 17th Edition considered.
• Experience within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Knowledge of electrical control systems, motors, drives, pumps and pipework.
• Familiar with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to equipment and plant breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain pumps, pipework, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Inspect machinery to identify potential issues before failures.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Assist with equipment installations and site projects.
• Work safely and comply with Health & Safety procedures.
