Job description

Job Title: Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is recruiting a Multi‑Skilled Engineer with an Electrical bias to join the team located in London (NW1). The role involves operating, maintaining, and managing electrical and mechanical building services across the site with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include PPM delivery, reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and support for specialist contractors, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with CBRE procedures and QHSE standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements. Maintenance and remedial works to be tracked/recorded using CBRE’s IFM Hub CAFM system.
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
  • Undertake and successfully complete CBRE training to issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems and achieve qualification as LVAP/CSAP for site.
  • Ensure that domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard, and hold/undertake completion of appropriate Level 2 Legionella training course.
  • Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept and the computerised maintenance system is kept up to date.
  • Ensure that safe methods of working are complied with for all tasks to ensure safe working practices are adhered to and all requirements are met under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, site operating processes, and operate their safe systems of work.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff and client personnel.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies.
  • Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors, and excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
  • Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and lifelong learning.
Education & Training
  • Good general education with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Recognised Level 3 electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2330, or equivalent).
  • Apprenticeship or formal electrical training programme preferred.
  • Additional knowledge of mechanical or building fabric trades beneficial.
Experience
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, distribution boards, lighting, containment and associated plant.
  • Experience working on PPM and reactive maintenance within commercial buildings.
  • Understanding of safe electrical isolation procedures and permit‑to‑work processes.
  • Good awareness of H&S practices and risk assessment requirements.
