Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias, Birmingham

This role is based in Birmingham, United Kingdom, for a Major Company supplying the Aerospace sector. The position is for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias and PLC background.

Position: Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias - Permanent

Shifts: 6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am - 4 on/off rotating weekly

Salary: £54,000 to £58,000

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-standard multi-skilled engineering support safely, independently or as part of a team.
2. Assist in reducing production losses, energy consumption, and waste.
3. Diagnose faults, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, correct function, reliability, and availability.
4. Engineer out equipment failures through continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Plan, coordinate, and execute installation and plant improvement projects.
6. Support and coordinate planned maintenance schedules, follow up on repairs, source spares, and maintain documentation to audit standards.
7. Communicate with suppliers, chase outstanding orders.
8. Provide shift coverage, including factory start-up/shutdown as required.
9. Specify and procure critical spares, create requisitions for orders.
10. Report equipment issues, follow up on work and spares requirements, and report to the Shift Plant Engineer.
11. Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
12. Support work requests outside immediate role responsibilities.
13. Perform other duties as required to support engineering operations.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• Experience with heavy motorized and hydraulic plant.
• Experience with steam generation, boiler operation, and high-pressure fluid systems.
• Mechanical and Electrical experience.
• BTec or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
