Shift Maintenance Engineer

Day shift Monday to Friday hours to be discussed at interview.

Must be multi-skilled: 70/30 electrical and mechanical.

Responsible to: Engineering Manager (Production Manager in their absence)

Responsible for: Providing a safe & healthy working environment, maintaining all plant assets to the highest standards, plant/production breakdown repair, engineer workshop.

Purpose of Role

To maintain company assets to the highest standards at all times and ensure the safe, efficient, and effective repair of plant/production breakdowns. Assist production with engineering issues when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Production

1. Ensure PPMs are completed as per schedules, with all documentation accurate and up-to-date.
2. Work through the engineering jobs list provided by the Engineering Manager.
3. React promptly to plant/production breakdowns, prioritizing as instructed.
4. Minimize costs by ensuring efficient use of all production consumables.

Health and Safety

1. Adhere to SWPs at all times; report issues promptly to Site Manager, Engineering Manager, and Compliance Manager.
2. Ensure correct PPE is used; report any additional requirements.
3. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and promote a clean-as-you-go policy.

Communication

1. Manage shift changeovers for continuity, communicate issues, complete shift reports, and email to management.
2. Report any issues requiring priority attention to the Engineering Manager.
3. Inform about critical spares needed or day-to-day spares requirements.
4. Notify when there may be issues resolving production breakdowns.

Personnel

1. Promote the company positively among employees; report incidents or morale issues.
2. Encourage effective communication among all staff.

General

1. Comply with all company rules, regulations, and procedures; promote good working practices.
