Job summary

Eko Talent is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a field-based role in Bedford. The position offers a base salary of £45,000 with annual earnings up to £60,000, plus overtime and a fully expensed company van.

The role is Monday to Friday DAYS, with travel involved and site-based responsibilities across automation and processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have an engineering/technical background, with mechanical or electrical bias, and experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food processing,

Qualifications

  • Engineering or technical background required.
  • Electrical or mechanical bias acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant equipment functions correctly (balers, compactors, shredders).
  • Maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, robotics, gearboxes, valves.
  • Install machinery on site.
  • Maintain mechanical and electrical process equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and perform diagnostics.
  • Follow a preventive maintenance (PPM) schedule and log work.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping standards.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in quality, cost, and safety.

We have partnered with a leading innovator in the renewable energy sector, who due to continued success are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer.

Successful candidates will have an engineering / technical background, Either Mechanical or Electrically biased within - Manufacturing, FMCG, Food Processing, Packaging, Recycling etc.

The main responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer will include.

  • Ensuring plant equipment functioning in the correct manner - Balers, Compactors, Shredding machinery.
  • Maintaining all equipment on site, such as conveyors, pumps, motors, robotics, gearboxes, and valves.
  • Installation of machinery onsite.
  • Maintaining all mechanical and electrical process equipment.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Following a PPM schedule and recording follow up work.
  • Ensuring appropriate housekeeping standards are maintained on a daily basis.
  • Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.
