About the role

An exciting new role within our Property Function! We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will prioritize maintaining and repairing brand-new equipment, applying your technical expertise to ensure outstanding performance and continuous improvement principles. A passion for customer service is essential, as you will understand the impact of your decisions and the efficiency of your maintenance work, operating within your training and experience to ensure a safe environment for all.

You will maintain and repair cutting-edge equipment in my nominated Urban Fulfilment Centre (UFC), utilizing my experience and technical knowledge. You will ensure that equipment runs in its optimum state through regular formal and informal inspections, completing maintenance tasks in accordance with good engineering practice, and striving to improve the equipment where possible.

  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary

You will be responsible for

  • Completing maintenance to an excellent standard, ensuring any items needing rectification are either immediately repaired or logged and scheduled for revisiting.
  • Operating with safety in mind at all times, dynamically risk-assessing all jobs to ensure safety for yourself and those around you.
  • Building effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from all departments, ensuring strong bonds with operational teams and supporting them where possible.
  • Supervising performance of the site to ensure efficient operation, understanding terms like availability and performance, and utilizing various means to measure these.
  • Being proactive and dynamic with timekeeping, ensuring the best value is given to the customer within working hours. Actively seeking ways to encourage and continuously improve as a business.
  • Documenting findings for major breakdowns/outages, using root cause analysis methods and proven approaches.
  • Supporting site maintenance budget adherence through a no-waste approach, repairing/testing replaced equipment for future use where possible.
  • Managing administrative maintenance, ensuring the CMMS is up to date and reflective of the maintenance status, and completing shift reports to a high standard.
  • Supporting the maintenance budget by ensuring spares/hours are accurately used and tracked.

You will need

  • Experience working hands-on within an engineering/maintenance department on highly automated equipment
  • Electrical/mechanical cross-skill training
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Data analysis and presentation skills for timely decisions

  • Ability to set and maintain high standards
