Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a Leeds site in the southern part of the city, offering excellent pay up to £65,000. The role is based on site with 4 on 4 off days/nights, and a strong emphasis on progression and continuous improvement.

You will work within a modern, highly automated manufacturing environment, tackling a range of engineering challenges while developing skills through PLC courses and internal progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing or process environments.
• Practical experience with fault-finding on automated machinery.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and performing electrical and/or mechanical repairs.
• Working on complex automated production lines and process equipment.
• Maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes and other components.
• Responding to breakdowns and implementing long-term fixes.
• Contributing to projects and continuous improvement activities.
• Aiming to improve machinery reliability and reduce downtime.

Maintenance Engineer - Leeds (Southern part, great road links)

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join an established, world-class manufacturing company in Leeds. The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment across the site. The position combines planned preventative maintenance with hands-on fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs, giving you the opportunity to work across a varied range of machinery and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing PPM schedules and carrying out reactive maintenance to keep production equipment operating efficiently
• Investigating machinery faults and carrying out effective electrical and/or mechanical repairs
• Working on complex automated production lines and process equipment
• Maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical components
• Responding to breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing lasting solutions
• Contributing to engineering projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement activities
• Looking for ways to improve machinery reliability, reduce downtime and increase production efficiency

Requirements

• Recognised engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing, production or a process-based environment
• Electrical or mechanical engineering and multi-skilled Maintenance EngineersPractical experience maintaining and fault-finding on automated machinery
• Confident diagnosing technical problems and carrying out effective repairs
• A proactive approach to maintenance, with a focus on equipment reliability and minimising production disruption
