Job summary
Bella & Duke is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance manager and sustain reliability of our manufacturing lines. You will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on grinding, packing and labelling equipment, conveyors and related systems, while coordinating with other teams to uphold safety and quality.
The role blends hands-on work with cross‑department collaboration; two-week rolling rota, days and back shifts, 05:00–22:00 with some flexibility.
Qualifications
- UK driving licence preferred.
- HND or HNC in mechanical or electrical engineering or studying towards it.
- Knowledge of PUWER and LOLER essential.
- IOSH accreditation would be an advantage.
- Lean manufacturing and CI knowledge a plus.
- Experience with PLC/inverter controlled systems is beneficial.
- Experience in high-volume processing maintenance preferred.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair to minimise downtime.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans.
- Oversee equipment installation and set-up.
- Ensure safety compliance with regulations and policies.
- Coordinate with production, ops, distribution, and vendors.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Train junior staff and supervise contractors during major overhauls.
- Maintain records of maintenance and manage spare parts inventory.
