Job summary

Nobul Resourcing Solutions is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing site in Widnes. You’ll join an established engineering team with a focus on root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance and machinery installations.

The role requires diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and applying condition monitoring, with a 4 on, 4 off shift. A relevant engineering qualification and 2+ years’ experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification such as BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ, or equivalent.
• Two years’ post-apprenticeship industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical or electronic motion control.
• Hands-on mechanical fitting and installation experience, incl. machine alignment.
• Familiarity with a maintenance management system; able to work on a 4 on, 4 off shift.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance and responding to breakdowns across production machinery and site services.
• Diagnosing faults, repairing or replacing components, and ensuring safe, reliable operation.
• Using condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis or thermal imaging to spot faults.
• Checking machine guarding, interlocks and safety devices.
• Supporting machinery installations, including levelling and service connections.
• Recording maintenance activity and tracking downtime trends; manage critical spares.

You’ll join an established engineering team with a strong record of staff retention and extensive knowledge of the site and its equipment.

What you’ll be doing

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns across production machinery and site services
• Diagnosing faults, repairing or replacing components, and setting up equipment so it runs safely and reliably
• Using condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis and thermal imaging to identify developing faults
• Checking machine guarding, interlocks and other safety devices
• Supporting machinery installations, including levelling, alignment and connection of services
• Recording maintenance activity, tracking downtime trends and helping keep critical spares available

What we’re looking for

• An engineering qualification such as a BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ, or equivalent
• A time-served maintenance technician with at least two years’ post-apprenticeship industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent experience
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical or electronic motion control systemsHands‑on mechanical fitting and installation experience, including machine alignment
• Familiarity with a maintenance management system and the ability to work independently on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern

Experience with processes such as coating, laminating, slitting, printing or winding would be an advantage. The same goes for industrial robotics, palletising robots, or electrical installation and wiring.
