Nicholas Associates Group is recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our manufacturing site. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, installations, fault-finding and both planned and reactive tasks to high standards.

The role operates on a 2‑shift rotation (06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00) and requires hands‑on technical expertise within a heavy industrial environment.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or equivalent recognised in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining heavy industrial equipment/systems.
  • Knowledge of plant control systems and PLCs is desirable.
  • Solid fault-finding abilities and methodical approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and complete risk assessments before tasks.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical compliance across the site.
  • Respond to breakdowns with timely fault-finding and repair.
  • Perform planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Carry out electrical installation work as required.
  • Manage data from systems to support controls and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with third‑party contractors and stakeholders.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Sector: Precision Engineering * Manufacturing Heavy Industry


Employment Type: Full-time


Permanent Shifts: 2‑shift rotation - 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00


We are currently recruiting a skilled and proactive Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with both mechanical and electrical experience gained within a heavy industrial environment.


You will support the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring full electrical and mechanical compliance across the site. This is a hands‑on role involving installations, maintenance, fault‑finding and ensuring both planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.


The role operates on a 2‑shift rotation:


06:00 - 14:00


14:00 - 22:00


Responsibilities & Duties


  • Work safely at all times in line with company safety standards and procedures, completing full risk assessments before undertaking any task

  • Ensure all electrical and mechanical compliance requirements are maintained

  • Respond to breakdowns and faults in a timely, logical and effective manner

  • Carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities

  • Undertake electrical installation work as required

  • Use appropriate systems and data to manage electrical and control systems

  • Liaise with and support the management of third‑party contractors

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels across the business


Essential Skills & Attributes


  • Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical maintenance

  • Proven mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within a heavy industrial environment

  • Knowledge of plant control systems, PLCs and automation (preferred)

  • Strong mechanical fault‑finding ability

  • Enthusiastic, proactive and computer literate

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
