About the Role: Our client is a leading food manufacturer that values hard work, teamwork, and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK and are looking for an electrically biased shift engineer to join the team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production & packaging machinery.
• Work on control panels, HMI’s, PLCs, SCADA Systems.
• Perform electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, and repairs.
• Handle motors, servo drives, contactors, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters.
• Manage stores and order spares & parts when needed.
• Maintain and modify electrical & mechanical drawings.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be an electrically biased engineer.
• NVQ Level 3 electrical engineering or maintenance at minimum.
• Completed a time-served apprenticeship with 5+ years of experience outside of it.
• Strong electrical & mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing industries such as food, FMCG, or packaging.
• Knowledge of PLCs, automation & control systems, HMIs.
• Must hold 17th or 18th Edition Electrical certification.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematic drawings.
• Knowledge of food safety/hygiene is beneficial.
• Willingness to assist in all team areas.
• Experience working with motors, inverters, VSDs, sensors, switches, pneumatics, gearboxes.
