Job summary

Pure Talent Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Slough (and surrounding areas) for a hands-on, field-based role supporting the movement, installation and upkeep of refrigeration equipment. The position involves travelling across the UK with occasional overnight stays and a varied daily workload.

No refrigeration experience is required as full training is provided. We value a practical, dependable, hands-on attitude and willingness to travel to different sites.

Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough / surrounding areas

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience + overtime

We’re looking for a practical, reliable and physically capable individual to join our team in a varied field-based role supporting the movement, installation and upkeep of refrigeration equipment.

This is a hands‑on position with plenty of variety. You’ll be based within a reasonable distance of Slough, but the role will involve travelling into London and other locations across the UK where required.

What you’ll be doing

• Transporting and delivering refrigeration equipment to customer sites
• Moving equipment into position, including occasional lifting upstairs or onto rooftops
• Carrying out deep cleans and general maintenance of commercial ice makers
• Replacing non-refrigeration components such as door seals, handles and lighting
• Assisting with general site‑based maintenance and equipment preparation
• Completing job sheets and service information electronically using a digital system
• Travelling to different locations, with occasional overnight stays when required
• Where heavier equipment needs to be moved, lifting equipment and additional manpower will be provided, so you won’t be expected to manage large or awkward loads alone.

What we’re looking for

You don’t necessarily need previous refrigeration experience, as full training will be provided. We’re more interested in someone who is practical, dependable and enjoys working with their hands.

• Is physically fit and comfortable with a hands‑on role
• Is happy working at different locations and travelling as required
• Has a flexible approach and is willing to stay away occasionally
• Is comfortable using a phone/tablet to complete digital paperwork
• Takes pride in their work and can work independently Overnight stays are infrequent — potentially around once every three months — and are for travel/location requirements rather than overnight working.

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience, with overtime available.
