Job Description

A Dorset-based food manufacturing company is looking to recruit a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for their production facility based in the Poole/Bournemouth area.

As a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of a small team of shift engineers providing engineering support to the production area. You will be responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance of plant, equipment, and auxiliary systems.

The site is part of a group of sites across the UK that are on a significant growth and development path, offering opportunities for progression.

Role:

• Multi-skilled, either electrically or mechanically biased (considered)
• 3 on 3 off shifts – Days and Nights (12 hours): 5.15 – 17.15 and 17.15 – 5.15
• Opportunity to work in a modern food manufacturing environment

Key responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:

• Assist the team to maximize plant and equipment efficiency to minimize downtime
• Ensure planned engineering tasks are completed on time and fully
• Follow good repair and manufacturing practices and procedures
• Complete planned maintenance documents / CMMS
• Work closely with production staff to meet daily targets
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives to improve efficiency and processes

Experience and skills required:

• Qualified maintenance engineer with C&G’s or NVQ Level 3, ideally ONC / HNC level
• Multi-skilled, electrically biased with mechanical skills/experience
• Apprenticeship-trained
• Proactive attitude to resolving issues and supporting production
• Manufacturing/production experience required
