Job summary

The ONE Group Ltd. is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer for a busy, highly automated manufacturing site in Peterborough, working on a Panama night shift pattern. The role is hands-on, focused on keeping production running, fault diagnosis, and ensuring equipment reliability and safety.

You'll perform PPM, fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems, and contribute to continuous improvement with a proactive, independent night-shift approach and strong team communication.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in manufacturing or automated production environment.
• Hands-on, proactive problem solving.
• Able to work independently on night shift.
• Good communication and team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults quickly
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Working with motors, sensors, drives, control systems and other automated equipment
• Repairing and maintaining production machinery
• Supporting equipment installations and improvements
• Identifying recurring problems and improving reliability
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime

£55,000 | Panama Night Shift | 12-hour shifts | Peterborough

Nights, good money and plenty of engineering!

I'm looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a busy and highly automated manufacturing site in Peterborough, working on a Panama night shift pattern. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be responsible for keeping production running, getting to the bottom of faults and making sure equipment is reliable, safe and ready to go.

Day to day role:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults quickly
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Working with motors, sensors, drives, control systems and other automated equipment
• Repairing and maintaining production machinery
• Supporting equipment installations and improvements
• Identifying recurring problems and finding ways to improve reliability
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
• Completing maintenance records and following engineering procedures
• Working safely and maintaining high engineering standards

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A recognised engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or automated production environment
• Good mechanical engineering knowledge
• A practical, hands‑on approach to problem solving
• The confidence to work independently during the night shift
• A proactive attitude – someone who looks for the cause of a problem, not just a quick fix
• Good communication skills and a team‑focused approach
