Job summary

Pertemps Bond in Milton Keynes is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability across our manufacturing site.

You will perform planned preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair faults (electrical and mechanical), and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and optimise performance. This is a permanent, full-time role with a Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm pattern.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing maintenance experience in a production environment.
  • Experience with 240V single-phase electrical systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience maintaining industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding on industrial machinery.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of machinery.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance.
  • Manage critical spare parts stock levels.
  • Liaise with external contractors when required.

Our client is a specialist manufacturing organisation producing high-performance products for demanding industrial sectors where quality, reliability and safety are essential. They are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to help maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving production and site equipment.

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
  • Performing electrical and mechanical fault-finding on industrial machinery.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Assisting with the installation, commissioning and modification of machinery.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Working closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance.
  • Managing critical spare parts stock levels.
  • Liaising with external contractors when required.
About You

Essential

  • Proven experience within a manufacturing maintenance environment or similar industry.
  • Experience working with single-phase 240V electrical systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience maintaining industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
Desirable
  • Experience working with three-phase electrical systems.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
