Job summary

Carbon60 is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Leek, England. The role involves day-based shifts, supporting maintenance activities in a highly regulated industrial environment.

You will carry out routine and reactive maintenance on plant equipment, with a strong focus on pipework, pumps, vessels and flanges. Basic electrical fault-finding and LOTO experience are essential, with safety and compliance at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial environment.
• Strong background in pipework, pumps, vessels and flanges.
• Basic electrical fault-finding capability.
• Experience with equipment isolation procedures (LOTO).
• Industries: Chemical / Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences, FMCG / Manufacturing, Oil & Gas / Refinery, Power Generation / Waste-to-Energy / Steel.

Responsibilities

Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading organisation on a 6-month contract based in Leek. This is a day-based role supporting maintenance activities within a highly regulated industrial environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial environment
• Strong background in pipework, pumps, vessels, and flanges
• Basic electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience with equipment isolation procedures (LOTO)
• Hands‑on experience within one or more of the following industries:
• Chemical / Petrochemical
• Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
• FMCG / Manufacturing
• Oil & Gas / Refinery
• Power Generation / Waste-to-Energy / Steel

Candidate Profile

• Strong practical, hands‑on engineering skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures
• Flexible and adaptable to site requirements
