Join Us as a Maintenance Engineer at B&M Retail

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer at our Ellesmere Port Distribution Centre. This full-time role reports to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager and involves maintaining, repairing, and resolving issues with equipment on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with third-party contractors to ensure value for money
• Ensure compliance with H&S requirements such as PUWER and LOLER
• Prioritize health & safety in all work activities, adhering to standards and regulations
• Follow and execute planned maintenance schedules effectively
• Assist with quotes and project work within the facilities team to resolve and maintain equipment
• Respond swiftly to breakdowns, communicate effectively, and work efficiently to resolve issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and providing feedback

Skills and Experience

• Experience with warehouse automation is preferred, especially as the company prepares to open a new warehouse
• Completed a full engineering apprenticeship and/or hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
• Multiskilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Experience in setting and implementing standards on site
• Knowledge of warehouse systems such as racking, dock doors, sprinklers, lighting, power distribution, plumbing, and general repairs
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks
• Strong communication skills for teamwork and operational collaboration
