Job summary

Henderson Brown Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Dundee to maintain, improve and optimise FMCG manufacturing equipment and site services for maximum reliability.

The role involves fault finding, PPМ and reactive maintenance with a focus on minimising downtime, plus contributing to continuous improvement across operations. Strong mechanical skills and relevant NVQ/City & Guilds are required.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds).
• Experience in fast-paced FMCG environments (food, packaging or similar).
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in FMCG production.
• Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.

Job description

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a FMCG manufacturer for a Maintenance Engineer. This role involves maintaining, improving, and optimising manufacturing equipment and site services to maximum reliability and performance. The ideal candidate would be either mechanically biased or multiskilled and have experience in food or wider FMCG.

Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £40,500

Location: Dundee

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday plus every other Sunday, with a replacement day off in the week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in FMCG production whilst complying with health and safety requirements.
• Perform both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on minimising downtime
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations
• Conduct fault finding on mechanical systems

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role (e.g. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Welder, Fabricator)
• Formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds), supported by relevant training and experience
• Experience in fast paced industries such as food, packaging or wider FMCG.
• Good problem solving skills and a clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong mechanical skills.
