Job summary

Workchain Ltd. in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing site. You'll handle breakdowns, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement across electrical systems, ensuring safety and uptime.

The role offers stability, on-site training and long-term progression within a busy production environment. A strong fault-finding background and PLC/inverter knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent in Electrical Maintenance.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a continuous process, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Experience with electrical maintenance, servicing and breakdowns.
  • Familiarity with factory maintenance practices.
  • Basic understanding of PLC logic and inverter drives.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Experience with large-scale plant operations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations at all times.
  • Working closely with department managers and contractors to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and accurate service records.
  • Supporting the Shift Team Leader to ensure efficient operation of the factory.
  • Gaining full understanding of all site processes, including steam plant, odour control and effluent treatment systems.
  • Monitoring electrical equipment performance to maximise uptime.
  • Completing breakdown repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Carrying out site electrical installations and upgrade work.
  • Performing routine electrical and mechanical maintenance in line with planned schedules.
  • Participating in on-call duties as part of the shift rota.

Workchain is proud to be recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly respected manufacturing business based in Doncaster. This is a permanent role offering fantastic earning potential and progression opportunities.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of a fast-paced production facility, handling breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement across a range of electrical systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations at all times

Working closely with department managers and contractors to resolve issues efficiently

Supporting the Shift Team Leader to ensure efficient operation of the factory

What We’re Looking For

Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Proven background in a continuous process, manufacturing, or production environment

Experience working on electrical maintenance, servicing and breakdowns

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve process issues

Familiarity with factory maintenance practices

Basic understanding of PLC logic and inverter drives

Basic mechanical knowledge

Experience with large-scale plant operations

Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
