Job summary

KPI-Recruiting-Ltd is recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Greater Manchester. The role is based in a brand-new facility with modern workshops, new tools and a strong focus on reliability and progression.

You will maintain and improve a highly automated operation, carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and supporting new production lines. Overtime is available on top of a base salary.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance engineering in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• Experience maintaining automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
• A recognised engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
• Proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.
• The ability to work effectively within a supportive engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across production and packaging equipment.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Working on mixers, industrial cookers, depositors, conveyors, packaging equipment, spiral freezers and X-ray systems.
• Supporting the commissioning, optimisation and ongoing improvement of newly installed production lines.
• Developing and improving PPM schedules and maintenance procedures.
• Working closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, increased reliability and reduced downtime.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety, food safety and engineering best practice.

Salary: 52,000 to 54,000 + Overtime
Shift Pattern: Panama Shift - Days & Nights
Hours: Average 42 hours per wee

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll work within a growing engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving a modern, highly automated manufacturing operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across production and packaging equipment.


• Fault-finding and diagnosing electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.


• Working on a variety of machinery including mixers, industrial cookers, depositors, conveyors, packaging equipment, spiral freezers and X-ray systems.


• Supporting the commissioning, optimisation and ongoing improvement of newly installed production lines.


• Developing and improving PPM schedules and maintenance procedures.


• Working closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.


• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, increased reliability and reduced downtime.


• Maintaining high standards of health and safety, food safety and engineering best practice.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with engineers who have:

• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, ideally within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.


• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.


• Experience maintaining automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.


• A recognised engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.


• A proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.


• The ability to work effectively within a supportive engineering team.

Experience with PLC fault-finding would be advantageous, although we're equally interested in engineers who want to develop their skills further.
